Compton House Heritage Inn offers luxury accommodations within easy walking distance of St. John’s most interesting attractions: the beginning of the Trans-Canada Hiking Trail, Bowering Park, Victoria Park, downtown shopping and restaurants, the St. John’s waterfront, boat tours, and the colourful nightlife of George Street.

By vehicle, our guests are only minutes from some of Newfoundland’s most historic sites, Signal Hill and Cape Spear National Historic Parks. Sample outport life nearby at the beautiful and uniquely different fishing villages if Quidi Vidi Gut, Lower Battery, Petty Harbour and the Marine Drive coast. Two main city bus routes run past Compton House.

The hosts of Compton House Heritage Inn have lived in St. John’s all their lives and are knowledgeable about the history of the city and their historic home.

Children over 12 are welcome and would enjoy the park-like grounds that surround Compton House.

There are no pets in residence and pets are not permitted inside. Also, Compton House Heritage Inn is completely smoke-free. Smoking is permitted on the grounds.
